Easy pastimes

Below I've listed a few pastimes which may help you when you are stuck for ideas during the long summer break.

Origami fortune tellers- do you remember as a child either making, playing or seeing others play with those origami fortune tellers. Normally they have colours on the outside and numbers in the middle and then under the flaps they have silly things to do or say, in our house they have nice things to say under the flaps. You can literally do anything with them! Make a game out of it and they are fairly easy to make anywhere you can get hold of an a4 sheet of paper.

Also try a boat and try racing them!

Go fish- the card game! It's fairly easy to grasp and enjoyable for different ages although it definitely not going to help with the under 3s! You could try a memory card game though, or even a memory thing game using smaller items and a tea towel.

A cardboard box- yes just the box nothing else! They'll love you. Add pens or paint once they have finished and it'll last even longer! Robots trains cars airplanes and even a princesses castle, a box can be so many things!

Chalk and concrete or paving! Hours of fun noughts and crosses, drawing the house, cars, summery scenes or even round them!

Pots and pans! Younger ones give spoons and they'll bash, older ones will make cakes or dress up as soldiers for example.
